This week's guest is the Swedish band, The Shy Lips.

The Shy Lips were the MSI:Labs Hit List Artist of the month for March. The band of five guys from Gothenburg, Sweden formed in 2012 and released their first album just three months after creating the band.

According to their SoundCloud profile; "The band was the brainchild of singer Adam and bassist Victor, born on the travels in Europe and South America where the two met and bonded - and the band became a reality when they moved to the vibrant music city of Gothenburg. After hooking up with drummer Anton and guitarist Alex and later joined by Adam's brother Jonas on guitar, the band now had members originating from Morocco, Poland and Sweden."

Butterflies Radio @IndieViews Artist Spotlight, featuring Kaila Picard - 4/1/2013

This week's guest is Kaila Picard, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Kaila performs a unique style of music, which she describes as "Bohemian Disco," fusing disco, soul, pop and blues. She is also the band leader for an 8-piece band and used to be a synchronized swimmer.

Kaila grew up in Montreal but moved to Toronto to study Jazz. She later discovered that the music scene in Toronto didn't match up to her style of music and returned to Montreal where she has found the perfect fit.

On April 9th she will host an album launch party for her newest release, at Le Belmont sur le Boulevard in Montreal. If you would like to attend the event ($5 tickets), RSVP here

Kaila is not afraid to let her self-described quirky and slightly dorky persona shine throug her material and stage show. While studying jazz in Montreal, she dove into the city's nightlife. "I grew a bad girl edge, and that experience gave me soul, and a dark place to write from," she says on her Reverbnation profile.

Butterflies Radio @IndieViews Artist Spotlight, featuring William Pilgrim & The All Grows Up - 3/25/13

This week’s guests are the duo of William Pilgrim & The All Grows Up.

William Pilgrim is the alter-ego of Ishmael “Ish” Herring, who is originally from Kansas City. He made his way to LA and put out a Craig’s List ad, advertising his services as a singer. PM Romero, from Orange County, took him up on his offer and the unique combination of blues, folk, and roots that makes up William Pilgrim & The All Grows Up was born.

In addition to their music, the pair are outspoken about the plight of the homeless in LA and are working on a documentary on the subject. They also have a podcast called “Live From The Ice House” where they tell more about the story of William Pilgrim & The All Grows Up, the journey Ish has made from being one of the homeless in LA to the studio now. They showcase local musicians from LA and discuss current events.
